The Chavs are coming to a proper stadium and let’s treat them to a proper game of football. I am sick to the teeth hearing how we had it easy until now and we will be tested properly during the next ten games. Bring it on, I say, and let’s give you all a proper smell of the Arsenal!
If everybody would be fit for this game, we could make ten changes from last starting eleven and still field an awesome team: Fab, Jenks, TV, BFG, Nacho, Arteta, Jack, Pod, Theo and Bendtner; and you can fit in Ox, Diaby if you like as well.
Not everybody is fit though, so Arsene will have to decide who to rest and who to give a chance. He does not like losing and especially not to the self-celebrating one, and let there be no doubt he will field a team that can win tomorrow’s game. It would also be only fair to field a decent to fairly strong team as tens of thousands of Gooners will make their way to THoF wanting to see our boys fight for a win. Maureen will not want to lose either, and we simply cannot let him have his way at our own ground. I don’t care about the League Cup one iota but I do care about beating the Oilers, and it is time we did so in style again.
So who is going to play? Not easy to guess, but I am going to break the thought processes for tomorrow’s line-up down as follows:
1. All players who did not have a break during the Inter-lull are likely to be rested;
2. With the exception of either BFG or Sagna, in order to shore up our defence tomorrow;
3. As many as possible established ‘nr.2’s’ in their positions will start;
4. Nr.1 players who are returning from a period on the sidelines will probably start (including Santi);
5. At most, three ‘youngsters’ will start in this game.
On the basis of the above and my expectation that Arsene will want to win this one, I reckon we will see the following starting eleven:
I believe the above team will do us proud tomorrow and come out victoriously.
But who would you play against the Chavs and do you agree we should field close to our strongest team, minus those who played during the internationals and therefore need a rest (with exception of BFG)?
Up the Arse! 🙂

Fiiiirssttt Bollick Banjo Bergkampesquersssssss!! 😀
Nice one Totes and your right, the bridge is a craphole!! Hayden and Jack for the double pivot is my choice as well. I would prefer Elmo to start on the left with Ryo to come off the bench to replace him , Rocky for the hole and the rest the same. BFG a must start. Hopefully Bellerin, Apkom get a run out too. 😀
It’s going to be one scary team we face with mata, willian, de bruyne, Mikel, essien … But at least we will be at home!! 😀
Yes Fozzie, we are at home and give them hell tomorrow! 🙂
I’d play Fabianski. Jenko Per TV5 Nacho in defence, Jack and Heyden in DM. Ryo, Rosicky and Cazorla behind Bendtner. AFC
Rambo & Jack will play centre.
Cazorla left, and Rosicky in the hole behind NikkiB
I read that Arsene has never beaten Maureen? It will be a huge psychological boost for us to win tomorrow it really will!! Also to take that winning mentality into mugsmashers in the weekend…. I think a lot is riding on this game.
I didn’t really care before but after reading all the history between Maureen pretty much disrespecting Wenger’s “total football” philosophy and visiting their house on Sunday I really hope we do a number on them!! 😀
Seems my blue doughnuts worked on Sunday!! Maureen practically mounted the Count and the Count looked “really long in the tooth” 😆 although after a few sherbets I got the munchies and knocked a few if those blue bad boys off myself!! 😆
When I was sitting on those tiny chairs I was offering a free “knighting service” to the chaps in front of me!! 😆 the chap could feel something resting on his shoulder (I was grateful for the support) and then he finally worked out what it was, I whipped it over and rested it on the other shoulder!! “I now pronounce you sir chav scum ” I whisperd in his ear 😆 hahaha!! 😆
I feel Santi will play wide… Rosicky in the middle.
Gnabry Rosicky Santi.
Rosicky will definitely play as he was fully rested at crystal palace game.. santi needs more game to be match fit.. and gnabry to play on the right wing., so yes, santi-rossa-gnabry!
Hi all..
Great post TA..
Eisfeld and Gnabry reported injured.. so We might not see them again Chelsea..
If Rosciky is okay.. then I think he must play.. along with Cazorla.. they will be great as they did last season..
I like to see Frimpong play.. as well as Hayden.. but put two youngster as our double pivot is a big risk.. I choose Frimpong first..
Mou said that he will rotate a lot.. cause of not enough time to rest.. after only played 2 days ago.. but I don’t think so..
They will only face Newc.. and We must face Liverpool in week 10 next week..
Mou know that Wenger will play second team.. and he will take advantange of that.. moreover the game is at Emirates.. so they will play their first team to win..
For me COC is not a major target.. sorry to disagree with most of you guys.. I don’t think We must give all our efford for this.. only because We don’t win any trophy in this past 8 years..
We must focus on Liverpool.. lucky us We play it at home again.. Liverpool away record isn’t so great.. We can take an advantange of that.. hehehe..
EPL and CL are our main target.. and We will get it.. cause We are the Champion.. hehe.. Go Gunners..
Morning TA,fellow goons
I pretty much go with your line-up TA but would push Santi out wide and have Little Mozart conducting seeing he was given a breather in the weekend
Jack and Hayden works for me..but as you pointed out, they’ll have a tricky time against Mikel and Essien who by the way looked VERY descent for Ghana during the last internationals..
A late cameo for Bellarin and Akpom and i’ll go for 2-1 for the good guys
COYG!!!!!!!!
TA – I’ll keep this short until the team is announced.
Arsenal do very well when I am less confident. Well they should be in for a good run on that basis?
Morning fellow G’s!!!!!!!!!
Agreed Rosa could play. Just felt Arsene would give Ryo and Gnabry a chance. Really hope we rest 3ambo.
Morning Totes … Good article on the rivalry with Maureen and Arsene 😀

Inhad to look at the training pictures a few times this week to second guess the team! Looks like they have the green slips, which meant Ozil, BFG an jacky not starting but maybe bench? Ramsey has a green so maybe in the pivot or out wide… No pictures of Rocky? Maybe he’s crook? Elmo for hole and ryo on the left? 😀
Pure guesswork of course!!
I think we will have some good options on the bench to chase a win anyway … Can’t wait now .. First game against the big boys …
Here’s the training pics fellow bastardos … What do you think??? 😀

Although seeing Bark Chew Yum in the green slip has me a little nervous not too mention the BK canine community !! 😆
thankyou Total
Nice observations regarding the likely team. i reckon with you that we should seek to stifle the opposition and more so the Oilers. But some changes expected to your line-up especially because no one seems to really know whether Jack is fit or not. If fit, I agree with you he should partner one of the youngsters. In the middle of the park I would like to see Rosa, and Santi out-wide on the left. Rosa is particularly good at driving the team forward.
I hope Bendtner will do himself proud this time by helping out the team with his hold up play, harassing their ugly backline and possibly scoring one or assisting in any way. Can Wenger outsmart the Maureen for the first time? I won’t place my money on it, but I just hope for a good game where Gooners will feel proud.
nice one @ TA
Rosicky has to start for me, the first name on the starting 11.
depending on the fitness of both Ryo and Gnabry , one of them starts and Rosicky stays in the middle with Santi drifting on the left.
i won’t be surprised to see a very strong 11 in the 2nd half though, with the likes of Giroud/Ramsey and Ozil coming on.
don’t think AW would want to lose this one, same sentiments as me really, every game is a game to be won and vs Chelsea it becomes even more meaningful.
so my report regarding Poldoski return was spot on, he is back in full training today….does he have an outside chance of making the bench for LiverFOOL and Dortmund ? i wonder.
Alex,
today is the big day or has the young gooner already arrived ?:)
where is everyone today ?
predictions people ?
i’m gonna go for a win in AET.
where is The Punter, where is JGC-Damus, where is 17HT
come on people, team news coming up very shortly –
Arsenal make eight changes from the team that beat Crystal Palace on Saturday. Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielny are the three men to keep their place. Nicklas Bendtner starts up front.
Arsenal’s starting XI: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Cazorla, Ryo, Bendtner
that’s a very strong team.
how does the bench look though ?
blimey, both teams have a very strong bench….
Arsenal starting team: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Cazorla, Ryo, Bendtner
Subs: Viviano, Sagna, Hayden, Yennaris, Ozil, Giroud, Park
Chelsea starting team: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Luiz, Bertrand, Mikel, Essien, De Bruyne, Mata, Willian, Eto’o
Subs: Blackman, Ivanovic, Kalas, Ramires, Hazard, Torres, Ba
so BFG gets a rest, Gibbs gets a rest and who else am i missing ?Gnabry is injured…
Great line up JB – we mean business! 🙂
Good evening @ TA
predictions ?
fingers crossed for Ramsey, i’m not sure if it’s wise to be playing him to be honest – maybe there is already a Wenger Masterplan for Ramsey being rested from the internationals ?
either way, if we lose Ramsey tonight then this will come back to haunt us for the rest of the season.
Evening gents,
JB,
I am giving this score prediction some thought i have a rough idea but give me a few more minutes to think it over as both teams have made so many changes. Wenger wants this 1 a lot by the looks of it well done Boss. Strong team come on Bendtner need a strong game from you tonight, i have a feeling Ryo is going to have a big game tonight and may even be the first goal scorer.
COYG
My prediction is 2-1 to us, though anything could happen in this game i think, there could be tons of goals or none, We may really miss Arteta and Flem, its a bit of an unknown . But il go for 2-1 . What about you? I have not had a chance to read it all yet.
Very strong line-up indeed. I hope we get a good performance and result tonight.
Anybody has a good link where we can watch the match???
Thanks.
Hey ho…Strong teams tonight…
Santi about the same height as the mascot in the handshake line…
COYG
Lets win this London derby and kick on for a testing few weeks, plus it will shut Jose up and he needs it.
Come on Arsenal , good that we are at home. Hope the ref is fair tonight sick of refs stitching us up.
gino,http://neolsports.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/arsenal.html
Consider my mind blown by the quality of players on display for both teams. All possession with Chelsea so far…
Thank you proudgooner.
Is this as positive as any Mourinho team, ever? Of course we need a little possession…
Decent break there after spectacular play at the back from Santi…
Corner…
Gino,
No problem mate, if it crashes il put another 1 up. But so far it seems to be really good just 1 or 2 buffering and i think that was because of my old laptop.
oh RYO so close keep it up its going to be a big night for him , he looks fast and sharp
Wow, great connection from Rambo to Ryo…Cahill alert however…First touch needed to take it wider…
fuck same sort of sloppy defending
Oops…Jenks back-header short to Fabs…
Our corner, their goal…
Nacho close after an interception…Good also to see Jack keeping his feet… Gotta keep pushing but Chelsea are happy to play on the break a goal up…
hope they all learn from that big mistake and dont do it again ,
COYG
Come lads be clinical in front of goal and take all our chances. come on you reds.
Hi Guys
Have not seen anything of the game yet, will be looking for a stream in a bit (computer needs warming up).
Shame we conceded so early… 😦
Cazorla look really up for it tonight, so far he is the best player on the pitch for me.
Jenks is pushing hard to make up for his weak back pass…Needs to settle himself…
I think Sir Chez might’ve been further off his line. That, plus his height might’ve made the difference…
PG, how come you didn’t go to the match tonight?
http://neolsports.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/arsenal.html here is 1 TA
17,
i couldn’t get a ticket mate, it is really hard to get any at the moment i have not had a chance to they are all sold out.
Wow, PG, I didn’t realize…Usually league cup tix are easy…Chelsea, I guess…
The quality tonight is very high…Much better than a typical league game…
Need a little possession and some better work from Nicky…
We could really do with scoring before half time before they go in and jose tells them to shut the gates, you know what he is like.
17,
To be honest i was not on the ball with this match if i just knew when the general sale opened i would have got on here straight away. Hopefully we get though, but your right. all agreed as well
We’re missing a real possession player out there. Too many touches by Ramsey and Wilshere…Arteta helps keep things ticking over…
Slipping towards half time…
Thanks for the link, PG 🙂
All to play for still.
I don’t think we deserve to be behind. And while Ryo is playing good, he needs to start taking on their full backs. That speed aint gon run itself. I think we done really okay though. A lil rust here, a lil miscommunication there. And no, jenkinson shouldn’t be taken off. Games like these build character.
Agreed Xavier. Jenkinson just suffers from rustiness when rested for a while, but he’ll come good eventually.
I agree 17 Arteta is so important to us most of the talk has been about Flem but the quiet work Arteta does for us is priceless we are very open at the back with out him. There not really anyone that can change that except Hayden but we need goals first Bentdner has done hardly anything yet Giroud and Ozil on the bench, what to do? In Arsene we trust! lol
COYG.
they will be very hard to break down now though still we score 1 and they have to come out or extra time then pens
From a selfish perspective I’d say throw on Ozil and Giroud–If we can break down this defense it would be great for the team going forward…If we can’t, or worse, we tie it up but then lose after an extra half hour… not so great…
Basically no great scoring chances for either club and the difference is the mistake defending after our corner…(I think we–mistake from Jenks again–gave up a similar goal vs Aston Villa last season…)
We’re still well in it. Santi and Sicky maybe need to get a little further forward or take on some shots…And yes, Ryo should try to run at his defenders…
very good Jenkinson lol 🙂 the player for the futur 🙂
Singing Giroud’s song before he’s even playing?…
Can’t really hold the ball for very long out there. Trying to do too much with each pass?…
Santi with a very weak shot…
Bendtner might’ve made a play on Ramsey’s deflected shot. We’re doing a little better here with Cahill hurt but unable to get subbed…Poor backpass there almost puts Chavs on the break…
Jenks, cul du sac…
Bendtner???? Turn and shoot!!!!…
Giroud song getting MUCH louder… 😆
Ramsey at least believes he can score…
Subs coming…Ryo out, Ozil in…Didn’t he use to play for Jose?
2 nil…Mata with his off foot…
Throw in to the box?….
Ozil on. Giroud on. Maybe fabianski is who we need to sub off? I think he shoulda done better for matas goal. 😦
Seemed to me that the trouble started with allowing the throw-in to Eto’o…
First team players in now…for a little consolation? And they’re still threatening on the break…
Lucky to avoid a third…Hate to say it but Vermaelen looks at sea…
Starting to get a couple of whistles at the other end, at least…
Chelseas have defended annoyingly well if they could just thread Giroud or anyone in , in the next few minutes then you never know i have seen us come back from more goals behind.
ALL the Chelsea guys down with cramp…”I haven’t had to play this much in a long time…” is maybe what they’re saying…
This is all a little sad…Unable to break down this Chelsea team…A consolation goal would be nice…
Ramsey out, Park on…
Park coming on is like waving the flag. poor all around. Chelsea have been hardly troubled tonight. We simply don’t have the depth to compete
Mourinho can park the bus but also attack. Wenger has never been the type to play like that. I can understand when Hansen said Arsenal are great with the ball but not without it.
It is a bit of a shame , i was a bit nervous about this game. Ryo, NB, TV were just not good enough they disrupted the rythem of the team missed placed passes and set the tone of a bad game for us.
It is 4 games less to play is the bonus, the bad thing is it was only 4 games to lift some silver.
This is a time we reall badly need Walcott and Podolski back to freshen things up Theo mostly we have done very well with out him but its time to get our top goal scorer back
Ba’s entrance was a bit of a slap in the face, no? And can we please get rid of Jenkinson… can’t even count how many times he’s killed our attack. Koz on the other hand… Simply class. The most under rated CB in the world.
On a different note, I’m surprised to see how out of shape and rusty Cazorla still looks.
What a quality performance and squad and a real ball breaker! I thought we might have at least got one in. So Maureen wins again and is well and truly got the wood over us. Up to the boyz to dig deep for Sunday now. The ads are out and it’s the Rango vs ratatouille show!! 😀
Ah well…
Agreed about lack of depth, given the injuries… If Essien (a force of total control all night) is their guy back from loan (ours being Park and Bendtner…) AND guys like Mata and Willian are fringe players… Well, it says something about player hoarding…
Not many players rested but nobody (fingers crossed) hurt either… Gotta do better next week…
* Saturday.. Now the critics will be saying we’ve played 2 too sides when the going is tough and we lost…. More cannon fodder for Hansen! 😦
I think it’s important to put this result into perspective. Once we went 1-0 down we were always going to struggle against a mourinho team. I don’t think it’s fair to say we don’t have depth – we just don’t have depth right now given that were topping the injury table.
That said really disappointed by the performance of Jenkinson who i felt rarely did anything positive. Another issue i’m worried by is the persistent pushing up of both full backs – when flamini’s fit this is less of an issue but neither wilshere nor ramsey seemed to like dropping anywhere near as much as required. I’m aware that this issue probably arises to provide width due to our current lack of wingers but we’re getting caught on the counter far to easily right now and this may cost us against bigger teams in more important competitions.
Its by no means doom and gloom but I think it’s fair to say we can learn a lot more from a loss than we can from a win and hopefully wenger will address these issues.
Did Park touch the ball?
With the first team from the start we could have won but you simply cannot rely on just 11 players to go through all season on all fronts. Chelsea don’t have kids for a second team, all are highly paid experienced pros. Finances come into it a bit but we should be able to at least trouble them a little. we did not.
I agree Wenger’s coat, it was embarrassing to be frank and we wiped at home. I think it was a bad, bad loss and psychologically a lot o damage done. It was a toothless performance … One shot on target? Come on ..
The thing is not to overplay against the Chavs. Just keep it tight and don’t give them opportunities to counter. With Flamini and Arteta (or a conservative Ramsey) in the double DM pivot, and the BFG organising the defence, we will be a totally different proposition for the oily Chavs.
Still feel crap though. The one thing to do is not to give top teams an easy self-inflicted goal, and yet we did it once again (something that happens to us sooo often if and when BFG does not play). The other one is not shielding our defence well enough/ being soft through the middle. Let’s buy another DM after Xmas so we have proper cover for the Flame….
It’s simple, we want to make the exceptional, it will not work!!
THERE should play sometimes a Simple alien but on a brand but not all shots;)
Jenkinson allows Chelsea to score a goal if he had two very clear the ball we would not have made the second goal ……
Go recruit MR Asene Wenger 🙂 rear right and front center midfielder 🙂 and of course the art to play with flamini to lock our midst;)
Here Totes, I was worried when BFG wasn’t on the sheet, but he deserved a breather. Bring on lars bender or pogba for DM. I see us being linked strongly with el shawary again for striker too. We must have backup. When I saw the oilers play on Sunday Yaya was a rock … I want our Viera back 😀
*Here here 😀
The only thing to concentrate on now as le prof would say is the next game and its a huge 1 v Liverpool
agree with you entirely TotalArsenal
sorry for my post translat = shit
Mata not good enough to play for their first team because Mourinho expect good players to do more without the ball. first goal was a result of immature defending .The second goal Monreal turns his back to avoid the shot. I will never understand that kind of defending. Going forward we look great but defensively we are way behind.
I do not think they wiped the floor with us as some pundit suggest on TV. I just think Mourinho has a way of dealing with teams who love to pass their way into the goal, he has done it a number of times against Barcelona. they will sit tight like any inferior team would do but they have the quality to hit you on the counter. I can’t ever remember Wenger doing that.
Ryo was light weight and needs to man up , he has the skill but the defender just gave him a little nudge and every time he ended up on the floor, no Flem-Teta no Ozil or OG til the damage was already done.
I want Podolski and Theo back for Liverpool
As we all know we have not seen our strongest team yet this season, and we sure did not see it tonight, we had more chance of sucking a witches nipple as seeing the best team tonight.
I want our Vieira back as well, Fozzer. Flamini is great but cannot carry the team throughout the season. So lets get another mini-Fla-mini 😉
Fozzie,
Agreed mate, you can see why Wenger does not give TV a look in at the moment as soon as we tamper with the defence and Flemteta we are in trouble, if you think about we even missed Gibbs tonight he gives aus alot both going forward and defence.
Macko 🙂
It looks like Jenkinson might not make it at Arsenal. But I am not going to rubbish him too much as he does try hard all the time…. probably not good enough, although he deserves one more run of games.
We did it against Liverpool away last season, and to some extent against Swansea away this season, Wenger’s coat.
Oh well you cant win them all i suppose we have done really well lately and we have to have a moan at some point. I am surprised James Bond has not pinned the lose on Szsz somehow lol
I just feel if we could have the option of Theo or Podolski as CF when Giroud needes a break or is just not working against a piticular team we will be tons better off.
Podolski is in training so i expect him to at least be on the bench v lfc
It is good to be out of the league cup though. 😀
TotalArsenal we pay cash and we take too much free goals
Yeah your right PG, we did miss Gibbs. . . nacho man was off his chops tonight eh? I thought he would play well like he did against palace? Kermit has been sending pictures of his green backside again!! Needless to say I sent a furry shot back at him!! 😆
Going to go back in the closet to mount Jim Hensons mummified hand for comfort!! 😆
No doubt I will pass Cockie behind the sofa with his gunner dumby and Henri blanky!! 😆 I have the same in the closet!! There will be no light saber show tonight!! 😆 nighty nighty brethren 😀
Agreed Macko. Time to tighten up and for us to score the first goal against the big teams, rather than conceding them (as we did last season).
TA, to a certain extend but nowhere near what Mourinho does. he has no shame whatsoever, he would park a double decker if he has to. Wenger would never do that. I would say the only time we did was against Barcelona . Wenger simply doe not like that.
I think we will get a good result against Liverpool. losing 3 games in a row at home is simply not an option. They will be up for it. I hope anyway
Positives for me were Santi sharpening up (although still a work in progress) and I liked Rambo and Kozzer’s performances today too.
Put a sock over it Fozzie, so it does not get damaged inadvertently…. 😛
That Kermit gets all the luck tut tut with his big boobs blond piggy no wonder pulling moonies. .
I just hope Wenger sorts them out for Liverpool, at least we know it will be the proper team. I think we will beat them , we must not lose we need get back to winning . The next 3 games are huge.
Goodnight brethren, sleep well
we must stop the sentimentalism, we are one clubs professional not amateur if we want to be champions we must play differently 😉
I hope that it will be better during next three games 🙂
GO GUNNERS
Agreed wenger’s coat. I still feel we are starting to play more organised and solid as a team now, and in Flamini we have the embodiment of this. But it remains a work in progress, as was evidenced today.
Hey Total, Is there going to be a match report?
This one breaks down on two fronts: the individual performances and the existential element of losing at home against a team we would like to “rival.”
IMO we really missed some experienced hands at the double-pivot. Ramsey and Wilshere are young and probably try to do a little much (take too many touches). They also lack the experience to offer themselves as outlets to other guys under pressure. They had Essien and Obi Mikel in those spots tonight. We’ll do better when it’s Arteta and Flamini and the younger guys can be more creative further forward.
Koscielny is quite a player but he had a strange night too. TV5 seems out of position often and hoping to use recovery speed. Maybe he’d be better as a forward(?) He couldn’t do much worse than the one we played with… Jenks has a strong right foot but if he can’t get his crosses where they need to go, it’s an open question if he is useful at this level. I believe we tried to buy JuanFran over the summer and it’s a shame it didn’t happen. Nacho on the left (to me) looks fine…as did Azpilicueta on the right for Chavs… I like those Spanish fullbacks, I guess…
The less said about Bendtner the better, but Rosicky and Santi are not the sort of players to get deep into the box and (of course) we’ve yet to score from outside of it. Ryo almost made magic happen but otherwise was well handled by Bertrand (a guy just as likely to make the English team as Gibbs)…Schwarzer looks pretty handy as a back-up keeper. Our guy might’ve done a little better on both goals….
All that being said, I thought the game was closer than the scoreline. Credit to Chelsea for pouncing on the mistake and then controlling the match once they had a lead. It’s early and we haven’t blown too many points in the league. These are huge matches coming and one less in November (and maybe a couple in January) are probably for the best. I think the manager, by playing better players tonight, is managing the fall-out from the (likely) defeat wisely. It can be seen as a run out and might suggest some patterns for practice. At least we didn’t have to play an extra half hour… Jenks may have to lick his wounds and just try to be ready for the next Sagna injury/rest and to see what we do in the Jan. Window. Otherwise, the squad mentality should be fine…Better results needed next week, of course…
TA,
Agreed for me Santi was the best player on the pitch, i am sure him ond Ozil will work together and practice how to open defences it will only get better.
Je suis un homme sentimental, Macko 😉
We will win the next one, and who what happens after that Macko.
Saw the match and I’m really sad. Our lack of depth seemed to be exposed. No real viable option for DM after Flamini or Arteta and we seemed to have no organiser in defence as well as no real quality CF/ST or winger. As we are no longer in the League Cup we should find it easier this season to try and do well in the league with our thin squad.
My thoughts on your comments.
TA, Jenkinson just does not seem ready yet. We definitely either need to buy a new experienced RB or young CB. I am not sure if he will make it or not.
PG, I fear that Ryo will not make it. I expect Ryo, Frimpong, Fabianski and Bendtner to be gone next season.
Rohan, I’m going to have to disagree with you on squad depth. Even with everybody fit we are still a bit light. We are a defender short and a CG/ST short. I do not think width should be an issue. Plenty of teams have had success with a narrow formation. Milan and United (when their wingers were injured) have done well when using a narrow formation. Even then was Ryo not supposed to be providing width? He is a natural winger after all.
Xavier, I cannot really understand why Viviano was not playing, I’m baffled. Is he not supposed to be better than Fabianski and on par, if not better than Szez.
Wenger’s coat, agreed but I would also add that the problem with Mata is that he is not lightening fast which means that he is not best suited to a counter attacking style of football.
When it comes to buying another midfielder first we will have to get rid of Frimpong and possible Diaby. Do we want a box to box midfielder like Song or Pogba to add presence in the middle of the park of do we want a DM sppecialist like Khedira or Mikel to just defend? I guess that is the big question.
Fine comment, dix-sept, and all agreed. 🙂
No match report from me. I have been up and down to London today and due to a few leaves and branches from a little storm 36 hours ago, the journey took 8 hours today (normally less than 4). The wonderful service of Greater Anglia Railways! 😈
So off to bedski soon.
Ok Darth Wenger, you were warned, I will use the force without the lubrication !.
So we have used 7 of the possible starting line-up versus the Scouse Gits tonight.
So don’t give us we were fatigued shit if the fresh Scouse gits rodger us on Saturday !.
I had no confidence whatsoever of beating the Chavs with a miss-match team, we might as well played all the youth players and lost and kept our first teamers fresh !. Another Daft Wenger boob imo, only a beating of the Bindippers will prove me wrong !.
And please please prove me wrong, otherwise I will get great pleasure in saying….” I told you so ! ” hahaha
November, historically a fcuk up month for us, I`m dreading it, lucky I have a comfy sofa to hybernate behind !. See you in December !. hahaha
Hey AFC! 🙂
How’s life treating you, buddy?!
A DM for me. We have fantastic box to box midfielders in Rambo, Jack and one or two others, but we need somebody who can defend like Flamini does, in my opinion.
we must won all the matches, and as you say recruited some key players missing to arrive at compete against in the PL and Champions League 😉
I wish you a good evening English friends hoping the positive for Sunday 🙂
Coockie, it has been a good test for some players and maybe Wenger will act in January as a result of this… Always look on the bright side of life…. 😛
Bonne Nuit, Macko 🙂
TA, really busy. 😦
I do want to get back to blogging and writing posts but at the the moment it seems unlikely. As soon as I have time I will write a post and send it to you.
I would have to agree with you. I would like Wenger to go for someone like Khedira. I think we need a pure DM, even if he lacks attacking ability like Mikel.
TV,should be very good DM, should give him a chance 😉
(Voice from inside closet) hey Cockie I have gone for tough love approach with Jim Hensons mummified hand!! No sock Totes!! I’ve impaled myself and have a mouldy taste in my mouth!! 😆 see what you have done to me darth Wenger!! 😆
Soon their will be a problem in my reactor core!! 😆
Totes
It`s not losing in the COCkie which pisses me off as I don’t give a toss about it, but putting players at risk of fatigue and injury for the vitally important Scouse game is negligent imo. I would even go as far as say fcuk the CL, saving the players and just concentrate on the EPL.
Mark my words, the Scouse gits are in a fantastic position with only one game per week, they will be as fresh as daisy’s every game !.
Sack Daft Wenger and put The Cockie Monster in charge and I will win us the league. I may be a cookie short of a full pack, but when I talk sense and logic, it is award winning stuff !. hahaha
Talking of award winning ideas. Have you seen them blue gloves in Tesco`s petrol station for keeping your hands clean whilst filling up ?. I take the whole pack home !. It`s better than a packet of 3…….a packet of 5 !…..just use one finger at a time and they are blue just like me !.
You can find more award winning money saving ideas @ Monster Cockie.com. hahaha
Vermaelen looks a shadow of the player when he arrived, I guess confidence is low. jenkinson , Ryo, Monreal and Bendtner have yet to prove anything in their career. In comaprisson chelsea have proven players as their B team. I guess all of them get paid huge sums to accept to be part of a B team. Arsenal will never be able to pay huge wages for 2 teams. I still believe with our first team available we can beat them,
Hahaha Fozzer
The Ghost of Jim Hanson`s fist fcuking hand !. I bet him, Wacko Jacko and Saville are in a fist fcuking triangle !.
After watching tonights game I haven’t changed my views about where Arsene is messing. If Jack can’t compete against Santi, Ozil, Ramsey, Rosicky in attack then he must sit on the bench. Why can’t he play defensive minded players like Frimpong instead of wasting players like Jack in those positions. We seem to loan and keep the wrong players. Is Bendtner better than Campbell? Also judging from a few games I have seen him Yennaris deserves to compete for the RB and DM positions. Otherwise I still believe we have a chance to win the league if we can add another striker and defensive midfielder. We really miss Walcott. No other player Ozil included can create as many chances for us like Theo. The OX is also another player really need for can play in central midfiled or even DM better than Jack. UP THE GUNNERS the league is ours for the taking
Our performance wasn’t good enough to win against a very strong Chelsea B-Team. Bendtner didn’t really do much at all and Ryo seemed lost out there. Jenkinson, let’s not even go there… It was very clear to see that we sorely missed a few of our regular first teamers.
Here are a few observations that I came away with last night:
1. We seriously need another good Striker in January (a poacher type Striker like Eduardo -pre injury-, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, Javier Hernandez, etc… I am well aware there is no chance in hell Liverpool or Man U will sell to us, but these are just examples of the type of strikers I would want for Arsenal). The likes of Bendtner, Park, and Sanogo don’t instill any confidence in me, and most definitely don’t scare any opponents.
2. We need to get a young, fast, super talented, and a bit “crazy” DM like the Flamini in January to rotate with flamster himself, get used to playing the Arsenal way, and eventually take over the job full time in a few years. It was painful to watch Chelsea just boss us around the pitch in our own “house” like they own the place or something. We were supposed to do that to other teams, not the other way around. I want someone willing and able to do all the dirty, less glamorous but necessary hard work to allow Cazorla and Ozil the freedom to wreak havoc week in and week out.
3. I realized that whenever Jenkinson makes a defensive mistake, (for the most part) it usually leads to a goal for the other team. Why is that? Is it just some weird coincidence or what? Can’t he iron these things out??? I guess he would need a run of games for that which we really cannot afford right now. Maybe a loan move in January might do him some good…? In which case we’d need a new RB to provide adequate cover for Sagna (and possibly take over next season if Sagna leaves).
4. As things stand, we need to offer Sagna a new 2-3-year deal pronto! Jenkinson is not ready yet, imo. And I am not sure if he will ever be ready. I hope so, for his and our sake.
5. I just love Rosicky. He is one heck of a ball player! He is always driving the team forward at every opportunity. Too bad some of his teammates weren’t on the same wavelength last night. I could see the frustration in his face. At 32 and with multiple injury setbacks, he still runs like he is in his 20s. He belongs with Arsenal and needs to retire at Arsenal, and then take up some coaching duty or something. He is a real professional. Wenger must give him a new contract.
6. Ryo needs a loan move away to develop his skills if he wants to make it in the PL. He has all that pace and trickery, yet he couldn’t beat the Chelsea FBs. He is wasting away in Arsenal reserve team. Now, I feel even Serge Gnabry has gone ahead of him in the pecking order.
7. Against top teams, we should be cautious and score the first goal. If we do that, they would have no choice but to come out of the defensive shape and try to play ball, which would be to our advantage. If we concede the first goal, the game is more than likely over for us, I fear.
Bring on Liverpool! We will be ready. Let’s not give “Count Dracula” any freebies ’cause he has been on a real tear since his return. I predict he will win the golden boot this season in the PL with at least a 25-goal tally. Too bad he is not playing for the Mighty Arsenal.
hello my English friends, can someone tell me please what happened to Théo Wallcott he is wounded for a long time, he died, what do he becomes, because for us in France, we have no news of him that would be nice to give to me the news of him if you have them in England
thank you in advance friends
Macko,
Poldoski is back in full training already – an outside chance for Liverpool and Dortmund – more realistically Dortmund
Theo Walcott is expect to be back for Man Utd , however, he if starts running by today or tomorrow , say if he is back in full training by thursday then he also has an outside chance for Liverpool (bench) and dortmund (bench) – but officially he is meant to be returning for Man UTD.
hope that helps.
Morning guys 🙂
Very fine comments since last night. Especially Gino’s thoughts on the game are a mini post by itself. Catch up tonight. 🙂
thx 007
*expected
on yesterday’s game, well Chelsea didn’t win it, we lost it.
it’s time that we spend the likes of Ryo, Jenks on loan in January, provided we can get Flamini back fit, he can cover at RB for Sagna or we can play Gibbs at RB and Nacho At LB, if need be
Jenks won’t improve by sitting on the bench , that’s for sure – he’s a very limited player and one dimensional
*send
good to see you AFC , and a fine comment.
Park looked a million times better in his short 5 minute stint than Bendtner
what striker in the world elects to pass it backwards to his team mate, when he is simply a few yards from goal, right in the fcuking middle and all he needs to do is, turn and fcuking shoot ? nope, he chooses to keep his back to his goal and then play a pass outside the box to Ramsey who has 3 people marking him.
even Chamakh would have had a go there.
shambles, shambles i tell you.
Thanks TA (11:44 comment)
I didn’t even think of that. If you need an emergency post for today or tomorrow, you can copy it, “doctor” it up and use it as a new post.
I have been away to work and just haven’t had time to write something up since my debut a few months back. Sorry about that.
Morning Ruptured Rectum Receivers. 😆
Although one raisin short of a fruit cake, I shall now put on my Spock Onsie and talk interesting logic !.
If we are to win the EPL in a year when our main rivals all have new managers so are to a certain degree in transition, then we have to make the EPL the main target !.
As I possibly said controversially last night…..fcuk the CL…..we are never going to win it this year unless we have the jammiest luck of the Chavs….luck partly funded by Mega Bucks !.
Play the fringe players in CL….FA Cup and save our best just for the EPL….just like Liverpool !.
We are not the Chavs who can play a second string eleven much more stronger in-depth than our second string, so it was a waste and playing with fire ( our injury luck ) time, playing some of our big boys last night, hopefully we came out unscathed !.
Another logical reason for not wasting our time with the CL is, if we don’t qualify, we will drop into the Europa League and as long as Daft Wenger doesn`t play any of our first teamers in that as well, then our youngsters will get a lot of quality match play in that competition !.
Imho, if we were in Liverpool`s situation of only one game per week, I would make us EPL favourites ! and from someone who is a feet on the ground pessimistic Arsenal supporter , that is saying something !.
Mind you it could be down to the fact that Daft Wenger has mind-melded with my cock and I have his in a Vulcan nerve pinch !. hahaha
We must beat the Bin Dippers and then field a weakened side in Dortmund so we have our strongest team set aside to play Manscum the Sunday after.
Follow my logical plan Dafty and title # 14 will be ours. Who of you bastards can argue against such simplistic logic ?. Cockie Sense !.
PS
You can now take my cock out of your mouth, Wenger……..I finished writing that piece 2 hours ago and the girl on the till in Tescos is giving you a funny look !.
Evening all, I have skimmed through most of the post match comments. I agree with one sentence.
17HT said ‘ Least said’ …. Agreed.
I am under an astrogical vow of silence anyway.
I watched the game this afternoon. The vow is still in place!
OGAAT!
Good evening Bergkampesue posse ,
Well we are out of the capital mickey mouse cup, i am with you on your point Cockie monster.
We haft to target the league and FA cup imo and i think that is what Wenger has done, Cockie is right we are not going to win the CL this season, i think the main thing in the CL is get though the group stages well for the sole reason of we dont want to go in to the Europa league that is the worst thing that could possibly happen to our beloved club..
So for me full effort on the EPL with second effort on the FA hoping for a nice easy run in the cup.
The FA cup deserves are full respect as it is the greatest league cup on the planet and may well be our best chance of silver this season.
All that i said above in the CL league case, if we can get to x-mas in great shape and Wenger can break his no buy in winter ways and we get a couple of super signings then the CL may be a good chance to really push on. fingers crossed. 🙂
disagreed with both Glics and The Punter.
just because we are not going to be winning a competition, doesn’t mean we throw in the towel
what’s the guarantee that by doing that, we won’t have any further injuries to key players or that we will be winning the PL ?
football is a sport – a sport that is played to be won, we have one of the biggest fans base in the world and all round it – i’m disappointed to hear such views which indicate us throwing in the towel
every football match should be played with the aim of winning, be it Liverpool or Blackpool in the FA cup
i can see where this talk stems from but i got to say, i’m bitterly disappointed and i’m glad that AW hardly ever listens to the fans anyway 🙂
Hear hear Jambon!
Why cannot we win the CL? Once Ozil, Santi, Theo, Jack and Rambo start dancing together nothing will stop us! 🙂
It is done we are out of it JB . There is 2 ways of looking at it your and the other both are right probably yours more so because it was 4 games more to win the cap cup or 4 games more where we would have fielded a weakened side and possibly got injured players are games that we did not need. I dont need to explain this you know it all just as well as i do. But it is done now and the PL and FA are our real chance of silver now that is a fact.
As Wengr said if we just had Theo, Podolski and the OX things could have been very different still the bonus is we have them to come back and very very soon, to have done so well with out hem is still very good. You know me JB i am the optimist
of course we can win the CL, but my point is, even if we can’t win it – i find such attitude really troubling really.
we are one of the biggest clubs in the world, so what if we don’t win a trophy this year ? is it the first time – NO
would it be the last time – NO
we play football to win games, to play an attractive brand and for our fans.
it’s all assumptions that we can’t win this and we can’t win that, no one can assure us the PL title if we gave up on all the rest of the competitions including the CL.
wake up and smell the coffee – while you are at it, take deep breaths with plenty of water intake
we only lost a COC game against a Chelsea B team that cost 150 million, not the end of the world.
2 good results in our next 2 matches and i bet all of you be saying, ah, we should now aim on finishing on top of our CL group 🙂
i know you are PG , i’m not having a go at you or Glics, i understand where you are coming from and you’re not the only ones to have such views i’m sure as there might be more fans.
but to throw in the towel without even trying just because we can’t win a competition or a football match in Europe ? it’s unacceptable to me….AW may not be the King of Europe but i can assure you, he is plenty better in the CL than he is in the COC – besides, all the best players in the world know that the CL is the real center stage to showcase what they are all about.
ok, if i were to play the devils advocate and go with the notion that we won’t win it, so what ? maybe we can top our group, maybe we can reach the knockouts and then lose – least we would have shown our skills, given our fans what they wanted to see and in the process made a few more gooners because they like our style of football or they see Ramsey as the new “Pirlo” ?
i am not even going to talk about the financial gains as i want to keep it purely football and fans.
you mention the likes of Theo, Poldi and the Ox, yeah ?
tell me, how will you fit 3 in the playing 11 when they are all fit, which by the way is very soon.
who will you leave out and so on ?
allow me to tell you – with them 3 returning, we can have the squad depth that we are all moaning about.
everyone is seeing a negative from yesterday yet no one see’s the positive – we didn’t lose any player to an injury or to a red card suspension.
TA,
I agree mate go for the CL fully 100% committed to win it, but so many great teams it is very hard to win, basically every game now is a must win.
Theo starts every game for starters, Podolski too starts 70% for me mate with the option to play both in the middle and the OX could easy be rotated with Jack til either is 100 %
my strongest in theory is Szcz, Gibbs, Kos, BFG, Sagna, Flem, Rambo, Ozil, Theo , Giroud, Podolski. What do you guys think, what is yours?
Sorry Cazorla instead of Podolski at the moment but a strong sub playing either or other
that is a bench of rosicky, jack, ox, tv, podolski, zaleemarteta. lol what a bench 😉
That would be my best line up as well! PG
Against bigger teams I would play Flamini and Arteta or Diaby if fully fit
there you go then, so it’s in everyone’s best interest that we have such competitions so we can play our fringe players or our bench more.
these players are capable of winning most football games , if not all our fringe players :
mine is the same as yours @ PG
you forgot Nacho, Gnabry – both are quality in my opinion, they add to our bench.
we will be fine on saturday and we will surprise a lot of people on wednesday for Dortmund in germany as well.
you heard it here first.
Me 2 TA,oh we will be there soon fingers crossed i really would be so pleased to get everyone fit and ready.
Jovetic sub after 9 mins with injury for city. hmm
if we just think about Theo last seasons 20 goals that breaks down to 1 goal every 2 games we have been missing, against the big clubs he is so very important to Wengers plans
Podolksi 17 or 18 too soo them 2 together is almost a goal a game we could impove with them 2 back, will will get stronger, we will conquer and be glorious again COYG
Agreed PG tips, theo, Santi and pod will soon increase our fire power
Lol i fancy a brew now 🙂
don’t under estimate Sczny;)
i am sensing last game of the season 11th may v Norwich , Gunners leading the PL by a point and winning 3-2 and a last minute penalty given to Norwich and saved by Sczny JB all the players holding up on there shoulders Hurst style JB lol its away in Norwich TA you must get a ticket some how surly.?/
im joking we win 3-0 my heart could not take that, i would take it if need be. my god could you imagine it.??
sadly, i disagree @ The Punter
by the time we will be playing Norwich, the title be already ours 😉
Sczny will still save the penalty though because the penalty will be going well wide anyway.
🙂
i reakon you have got a big life size Sczny poster on your wall JB ha ha ha
how can i not, when the guy raps/sings so well ; )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG__ozGqMXQ
hull have scored get in 1-1
how have i missed this song i am going to buy the LP the boy has a voice of an angel lol
JB 🙂
nasa chadli come on as a sub for 9 mins for the spuds before limping of injured
and micah richards comes off injured for city
extra time for both looks likely what a shame
TA – Look away now
Britain’s got talent. Gareth Bale hammers in his second goal of the night to put Real Madrid 2-0 up against Seville.
but i’m sure you already knew that , right ? that he be the next big thing in La Liga after them 2 superstars ; )
the more players get injured for man city, the better @ The punter
but am so glad we didn’t buy Jovetic, a bullet well dodged and i’m glad AW listened to me on that one and not TA 😉
Real Madrid have a penalty, surely a chance for Gareth Bale to get his hat-trick?
No. Cristiano Ronaldo takes the penalties in these parts. No sentiment here, as Ronaldo makes it three.
ahahahhahahahahahahahahaha
what a greedy bashtard this guy really is, couldn’t let Bale take all the limelight , could he now ?
Cisse misses the chance of the game on a one on one for newcastle, bugger
that save from city’s reserves keeps Hart glued to the bench i reckon, for the next few games.
bales goal looked pretty classy too , he took it well with a lovely curler from 18 yards
glad Cisse missed mate another 30 mins for city just what the doctor glic ordered
negredo scores.
That Ronaldo would eat Bales last bannana atfer he had just been to tesco and got a trolly full of food JB ha ha ha
yesss Hull score 2-1 to them
hull scoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooore
ahahahahahhahaha
1-2 to hull
GET INVOLVED
Matt: Can Spurs get any more boring? Worst team to watch in the Premier League guided by the most negative manager in football.
Lee: We are all frustrated that Spurs can’t finish teams at the moment, but lets keep the faith. COYS!
Oli: Spurs fans have done as AVB asked and got behind the team. Interesting they’re struggling. Maybe the fans weren’t the issue on Saturday or today?
ahahhahahahahaahhahahahahaahahahahahahhaah
agreed @ PG
so if spuds lose today then how does that make our defeat to chelsea look like, ehh ?
they spent 110 million, no ?
New Post 🙂
Now listen Bastard 1 and Bastard 2, I have had to put my Spock Onesie back on. Obviously we try and win every game we play in, but just don’t waste our first choice players when we always have half the quality players on the sick table !. Along with Chavs, City, Manscum, Liverpool and Totscum, all our first choice 11`s are as good as each other and everyone can beat everyone, but because of all the spending power the Chavs and City have, they can pay elite players to sit around twiddling their thumbs !. We have never competed since Abramobitch arrived….when`s the last time we had a full fit squad ?. Historically we suck when it comes to injuries. So why bother taking a risk on players in a Micky Mouse cup when we are TOTL and could have a great chance staying there by managing our often bare to the bones squad logically !. When Pod, Theo, Oz and whoever come back, you know what will happen, some other bastard will get injured !.
I will not get the cock out to Cocknotize you bastards as obviously the pair of you are on drugs and it`s obvious why Totes is not around much nowadays as he is back fcuking dealing !.
Hope the spuds win, so they will have more matches to play to bring on fatigue and possible injuries….see, being on cookies and not drugs like you two delusional bastards, I`m able to think logically !.
And Bondage Bastard. Perhaps with my logical thinking, Daft Wenger would have won a trophy recently…….Daft out….Cockie in !. hahaha
And what`s Totals new avatar all about ?…..Trying to hypnotize ?…..Look into my cock bastard ………..hahaha
